U.S. State Dept. Urges Swedish Government to Treat A$AP Rocky Fairly

It’s been a little over 2 weeks since American rapper and artist A$AP Rocky was arrested and detained by the Swedish government. Since then, fans from around the world have shown their support, hoping for his release. Swedish House Mafia has also shown their full support for Rocky, even showing the #JusticeForRocky during their Ultra Europe set.

We expect all governments, including Sweden, to treat American citizens fairly and with respect.

Still, Rocky has remained in imprisonment, with no sign of returning home. Fortunately, it’s been reported that the U.S. Department of State has issued a firm warning to the Swedish government, regarding the treatment of Rocky. A spokesperson told Politico, “There are certainly some facts about the arrest and detention that raise concerns.”

Friends and fans of Rocky grew even more concerned about his condition after learning exactly how he was treated. According to ASAP Ferg, Rocky was in solitary confinement, without any visitation or call privileges. Just last week, TMZ reported that Rocky’s detention cell was ‘disease-ridden’ but these claims were discredited by Rocky’s lawyer. It’s also been reported that Rocky has been forced to sleep on a yoga mat and given unsanitary food and drinking water.

The U.S Government is taking these claims all seriously, as no one should be held in these types of conditions. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Robert O’Brien, Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs, have been briefed on the situation, leaving fans confident in a quick and fair resolution.
