Swedish House Mafia’s Intro ID Updated & Given Unofficial Title

Swedish House Mafia, perfrom as part of the iTunes Festival, held at the Roundhouse in London.

Upon their return to the EDM scene, the Swedish House Mafia trio of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello have been the base of many rumors. This includes their tour dates, cancellations, possible collaborations, and the extensively discussed ID ‘Underneath it All‘. Now, to add to the mix, their show intro has been given a name: ‘It Gets Better‘.

While we’re still waiting for their first official release since getting back together, they’ve been on tour for over a year now. Each time, they revisit most of their classics tracks and also premiere a number of IDs, new mashups and remixes. Most notably, the orchestral rework of ‘One’ had garnered much of the attention.

They had, until recently, toured with an intro remix of ‘Miami 2 Ibiza‘ – such as at Ultra 2018. Then last spring, the trio introduced us to their latest ID. It was captured and recorded by many fans in Mexico and Stockholm.

Upon its first play, it accompanied the artists on-stage under a spectacular show of lights and fireworks. It features an epic build-up and ground-shaking bass for a drop. In a style similar to that of ‘One‘ or ‘Greyhound‘, it blends stark drums and familiar electronic sounds.

The short verse – whose vocalist is still unknown – reads “it gets better babe”, hence the name. The title had already been hinted at in May’s video, shared on their Facebook page with the obvious comment: “It Gets Better”. Only now does it make true sense.

Rumored to be closing Tomorrowland’s second weekend, we can only wait expectantly for SHM to play it again. For an early listen, see the song captured on Soundcloud.
