Spotify Premium Now Includes Free Access to Hulu

Talk about a double whammy. As of March 12, 2019, the streaming platform has launched a new program in which Spotify Premium users now have free access to Hulu. The Premium membership costs $9.99 monthly.

Spotify is notorious for promotions such as this to drive traffic to the platform. Their student deal from 2017 cost only $4.99 and was the first deal to include a free Hulu subscription. In 2018, the bundle deal with Hulu for non-students cost $12.99. Now, this cost will automatically be reduced to the $9.99 price point for users. Marc Huzan, one of Spotify’s heads of premium business development, stated:

“AS WE PUSH TOWARDS MAKING SPOTIFY PREMIUM A GATEWAY TO A BIGGER WORLD OF ENTERTAINMENT, WE’RE FULLY COMMITTED TO FINDING NEW WAYS TO ENHANCE THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE FOR OUR PREMIUM USERS AND THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING.”

It is no secret that Spotify has taken the music streaming world by storm. From beneficial app updates to the inclusion of these membership perks, Spotify is on a roll. Last month, Spotify shared its 2018 Q4 revenue, reaching $1.7 billion. Spotify’s platform succeeds on the basis of inclusiveness. The addition of free Hulu is extremely beneficial for both platforms, as it’s a key way for the two platforms to support one another. In addition to Hulu, Spotify has recently acquired two huge podcasting companies in order to expand their podcast features.

Benefits of Spotify Premium include a wider range of listening capabilities, as well as ability to download songs to listen to on the go without WiFi. Hulu’s ad-supported service offers movies, TV shows and Hulu Original Series. Current premium customers can click here to add free Hulu access to their account.
