Winter Music Conference is under full swing and is already bearing fresh fruit. The EDM community is still reeling from the unfortunate cancellations of Eric Prydz’ appearances. However, the WMC talks bring us news to be cheerful of. Big news came out of the State of Trance panel. Trance heads should be delighted to hear that Armin van Buuren’s newest album is edging closer to a hard release date. On top of that, he also spoke about plans for A State Of Trance (ASOT) 1000.

Armin’s The State of Trance panel hosted himself and DJ Magazine‘s Carl Loben as speakers. Although Armin is very tight-lipped on most details regarding his upcoming projects, Carl successfully nudges him into sharing desires of, “making the world a dancefloor.” (H/T Fans should also expect a late 2019 release date for his newest album under his Gaia side project.

AvB definitely kept the juicy details under wraps and stayed on message for the remainder of his speech. The panel’s main focus was about his long-standing ASOT brand. He spoke at length about its history and future. Along with that, he spoke about ASOT 900 in Utrecht and teased what to expect for ASOT 1000. He did an interview before his WMC panel, which can be read here, where he said this:

“It’s all about evolving. Sometimes, getting bigger is just what a brand needs. And at other times, we may need to change some other stuff to make sure ASOT remains the go-to trance brand for so many people. It’s a process that never stops, but we’ve got a great team here that has the best interests at heart for all parties involved.”

The WMC concludes today as it gives way to Ultra Music Festival. Expect to hear more news coming out of the various panels. Artists like David Guetta, Louie Vega, and Shaquille O’Neal are featured and will address industry professionals.
