The Chainsmokers have gotten another song that has been streamed over one billion times on Spotify. The duo hit this milestone with their song, ‘Something Just Like This’ from their Memories… Do Not Open album. Alex Pail and Drew Taggart first entered the billion stream club with their arguably catchiest single yet, ‘Closer’. Their second single ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ was next in line to join the club and even won them a Grammy.
With three major blockbuster hits under their belt, it makes them the third group in history to have three singles with more than a billion streams on Spotify. Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber claim the first two spots on the list and each has four singles in this exclusive club.
Many people will always fall into a love/hate relationship with the Chainsmokers but they can’t discredit their massive success. It’s undeniable that they have a knack for making great music so let’s leave it there and appreciate the tunes they bring to the table. The duo have recently released a new song with 5SOS titled ‘Who Do You Love‘ and announced an upcoming North American tour.
