Lee Curtiss + Matt Tolfrey – For Your Mind EP
The legendary Southern California-based label Desert Hearts Records is starting 2019 off with a bang. They’ve just released a fresh two-track EP from the minds of Matt Tolfrey and Lee Curtiss titled For Your Mind that brings the infamous Desert Hearts groove to speakers and venues everywhere.
The EP, featuring a track titled ‘Who Said That’ and the title track ‘For Your Mind’, echoes the iconic label sound with punchy percussion, smooth synths and an always-dance-inspiring beat. ‘Who Said That’ features a more upbeat, driving bassline, whereas ‘For Your Mind’ takes a bit of a darker route with its lower synths, perfect for that 3am desert set. We can already picture this bumping across the dusty dancefloor at Desert Hearts later this year.
Curtiss—the co-founder of Visionquest—collaborating with DH label veteran Tofrey is a combination we never thought we’d love so much. Take a listen to the new EP below—and keep your eyes peeled, Desert Heart fans. We’re hoping to see the announcement for their annual spring festival any day now.
