Destructo‘s new cruise festival, Friendship, kicked off its sold-out maiden voyage yesterday on the gorgeous Celebrity Equinox leaving out of Miami. It left port yesterday bound for the private island of Coco Cay, however this afternoon attendees noticed that suddenly they were back within American cell reception range.
As it turns out the ship had turned around and began sailing back to Port Miami. However no official announcement had been given from the ship’s crew.

As of about 3:30pm the ship had returned to port. Twitter reports indicate that passengers have said the ship returned due to a medical emergency on the ship. Since the ship was not too far out from Miami, it was less expensive to return to port than to fly out a Coast Guard helicopter.

Port Miami reports that it returned for a medical emergency and has already left Miami once again en route to Coco Cay as of 4:45pm.
