Avicii’s Fortune Will Go To His Parents Due To Swedish Law

Avicii
Avicii‘s passing in April, earlier this year, has been definitely one of the greatest losses in the EDM Community. Tim Bergling, who was only 28 years old when he was found dead while vacationing in Oman, is a clear example of how the hard-working pressure in the music industry can eventually take its toll in the lives of the artists and their families.

Avicii’s career skyrocketed in 2011, and he quickly became one of the best-paid artists in the industry. Soon, the young DJ and producer started to earn around $250,000 a night when playing at sold-out shows, touring around the world and playing at major international music festivals. Now, the Swedish law has pronounced that, since he had no children and wasn’t married at the time of his death, it’s his parents, Klas Bergling and Anki Lidén, who will inherit all of his fortunes, that goes up to around $25.5 million.

Devastated and completely heartbroken, his parents released a statement in the weeks that followed his death, where they clearly said that his health issues were hitting a point of no return: “He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace.” Avicii’s known anxiety problems and alcohol abuse eventually led him to a state of severe depression and stress.

Avicii’s music will stay forever in our hearts and we will continue to pay our respects to his legacy. We hope he has finally found peace.
