Okeechobee 2019 Not Happening With Future Still Uncertain

Okeechobee The future is unclear for Okeechobee Festival. However, one thing is for sure, Okeechobee 2019 is not happening. At the Nov. 8 meeting of the Okeechobee County Board of Commissioners, Ms. Chartier said the festival has not even applied for a permit for the 2019 fest. However, county officials will be meeting with festival representatives on November 13. County Commission Chairman Terry Burroughs said county officials will listen to what they have to say.

It’s pretty safe to say there won’t be a festival this year

Previously OMF took place over 4 days in Sunshine Grove, Okeechobee, Florida. They typically release the lineup in October, and yet in 2018 we have heard nothing since Labor Day. After rumors of cancellation popped up several months ago, the festival posted “Hang in there…info coming soon.” The festival grew during its first two years but attendance slowed in 2018. The plan was for Okee to move to the 2nd weekend in March of 2019 to coordinate it with Spring Break for more colleges. There was even permission granted for a Fall festival in future years, but now all of that is completely up in the air as we await news.
