KOAN Sound Makes Long Anticipated Return With Brand New Album

After a long period of silence, KOAN Sound is set to release a brand new album. The duo consisting of Jim Bastow and Will Weeks has not released music since their “Dynasty EP” back in 2015. Over three years in the making, KOAN Sound has announced that they will be releasing a studio album called “Polychrome” on December 7th.

KOAN Sound made a lot of noise back in the day with releases on Skrillex’s OWSLA label as well as UK’s Inspected Records. Their new album, “Polychrome” will be released on their very own label called Shoshin Records. The album consists of 11 new tracks and unlike most other albums, the 11 tracks are meant to be listened to as a whole from start to finish. Each track will present a different element of electronic music while taking the listener on an atmospheric journey. When commenting on the their new album, KOAN Sound stated the following:

“We wanted the album to be listenable but also work live at the same time – that was the hardest part. We made every track as a cinematic piece; each one tells a story. There isn’t a lot of repetition in terms of structure and arrangement, and each progresses in such a way that we can play it live in its entirety”

The duo will make their return to the live stage in 2019 as well. Their first show will take place on February 16th in their hometown of Bristol at the iconic Trinity venue. Global dates are set to be announced as the time comes closer. Check out trailer of their new album ‘Polychrome’ below.
