John Digweed Brings Renowned Sound To San Diego Rooftop [EVENT REVIEW]

No matter where you are, who you’re with, how your day’s been, or how it will go – there is absolutely nothing that will rock your world in any given moment than getting locked into a set by the legendary John Digweed.

We had the pleasure of experiencing one of the most longstanding, well-known DJs in the world last weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. FNGRS CRSSD – the same crew behind CRSSD Festival – put on a stellar show on the hotel’s rooftop. The setup was unique – Digweed played in a boxed-in courtyard surrounded by hotel rooms, but just a few steps to your right and you’re overlooking a beautiful horizon of the San Diego coastline and downtown skyline.

If you’ve seen Digweed before, you know exactly what we mean when we say that his musical style is unlike any other. It teases you, twists you, and draws you into an envelop of sound filled with an ethereal, yet driving bassline. Two hours of this progression was absolutely enthralling, keeping us tied to the dancefloor until the very end. By the early end time of 9pm, we weren’t ready to let go – we hoped he’d come back for more.

Digweed has been a household name in the electronic music scene for years. He’s played across the globe, was named the No. 1 DJ globally by DJ Mag in 2001 and continues to prove, time and time again, that he is a master behind the decks.

Until next time, Digweed. You never cease to amaze us.
