Two Partygoers Have Died Following Neverland Electronic Music Festival

neverland

This year’s highly anticipated edition of the Neverland Electronic Music Festival was held from September 30 to October 1, 2018. Psy Trance enthusiasts from around the globe flocked to experience the magic that was spread across three massive dance floors during the 24-hour non-stop event on the banks of the Jordan River in North Israel. Unfortunately the success of the event was marred by two men dying after collapsing.

The first incident occurred when a 55-year-old man, a resident of Ashkelon, had collapsed on the dance floor, was treated on-site, and then rushed to a medical center in Safed. An autopsy has been ordered to officially determine the cause of death; however, it is suspected to be linked to an overdose of alcohol, drugs, or potentially both.

Following this tragic situation, a 27-year-old man from Kiryat Shmona experienced the same. After collapsing, being treated on the grounds and then taken to the Safed hospital, it has been reported that he was pronounced dead due to organ failure.

In addition to their sudden passing, two 20-year-olds were also treated – one woman sustained a facial injury after she fell, and one man sustained moderate injuries due to a punctured lung.

“in light of the incidents, an investigation will be opened to determine the cause of their deaths.” – Israeli Police

An event of this magnitude is already a difficult project to execute and requires extensive hours of planning. The Upper Galilee Regional Council had previously decided last month not to approve requests for mass parties in their region, but this beloved event went ahead anyway.

As the investigation continues, we would like to take a moment to extend our sincerest condolences to the victim’s families and friends during this difficult time, and look forward to seeing how the Neverland Electronic Festival will move forward following the series of tragedies.
