[Interview] Fabian Mazur Dishes About New Track ‘The Groove’ and Upcoming Projects

We caught up with rising Trap & Hip-Hop producer Fabian Mazur to have a chat about his new release ‘The Groove‘. Over the years, Fabian has expanded from the Danish club scene to an international audience gaining support from artists such as Martin Garrix, Tiësto and Afrojack.

Tell us more about ‘The Groove’, how would you describe the track yourself?

‘The Groove’ is a record that I created after listening to a lot of old hip-hop stuff. I went through some of all the old Timbaland and Pharrell stuff and I was inspired to make a drop that was really bouncy! The hard part of the production was merging an experimental electronic soundscape with a straight forward hiphop track!

How well do you think ‘The Groove’ stacks up against your previous releases?

Well, I think ‘The Groove’ shows a bit more of my hip-hop side compared to my recent releases. Hopefully the fans will dig it!

Having previously released music on Armada, Trap nation and Dim Mak, what more can we expect from you at Elysian.

Me and Elysian Records go WAY back, they were actually one of the first labels to release my tracks. I’ve been releasing with them on the regular for years now and there is definitely more to come!

Any plans for an EP or Album in the near future?

I really want to do a larger body of work at one point in the future. I love the idea of creating a cohesive album where everything kinda fits in the same soundscape and feel. I might do an EP or album in 2019 for sure!

Anything special in store for your ADE show?

A LOT! Haha. I can’t wait to play all of these new tunes, I think I’ll be playing somewhere around 10 unreleased tracks at my ADE show! So I’m really looking forward to that.
