David Guetta Officially Announces Jack Back Alias Via House Music Mixtape

David Guetta is no foreign name to the music world. Since he started DJing in the 80’s, he has collected awards such as DJ Mag’s number one DJ in 2011 and creating the number one dance-pop collaboration of all time with ‘When Loves Takes Over’. Recently rumors about Guetta producing under a new alias have been floating around which involved music that typically has not been associated with Guetta’s “sound”. However, these rumors have now been confirmed as David Guetta has OFFICIALLY released a mixtape under Jack Back.

This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise since he created the Jack Back label in 2012 leading us to easily determine who the person behind the new persona was. While Guetta has been known for his commercial mainstream music–especially in the past decade–he now returns to his house music roots in the new mixtape. The mixtape contains 12 tracks that showcase a underground house sound that have elements of techno and deep house. Guetta is also set to release his seventh studio album aptly named 7 which will feature a second component with these 12 tracks.

The Jack Back mixtape will definitely widen the “grandfather of EDM’s” fanbase by reminding fans of the range of Guetta’s talents. With infectious tracks such as ‘Overtone’, Freedom’, and ‘Just A Little More Love’ this is one collection you’ll need to hear.

On speaking of the new alias Guetta said,

“7′ represents a full cycle to me and that’s why I wanted to go back to the beginning of the cycle. I originally started in underground house music, playing all the raves and underground clubs in Paris. I wanted to make music just for fun, with absolutely no commercial approach to it. I want to make every type of music that I like, I’m doing it for the love of music.’’

We’ll keep our eyes out for the release of 7. In the meantime, take a listen to the Jack Black mixtape below.
