Recently it was announced that Aphex Twin would be premiering a 5 minute video on Adult Swim to commemorate the releases of the Collapse EP. Pitchfork is reporting that the segment was cancelled for “safety reasons”. Surely this sounds odd, and the reasoning will surprise you.
The video failed the Harding test, which is used to screen videos for potential to cause epileptic seizures. That means the video is literally dangerous enough to cause seizures, that’s really something. Now the video will be premiered online. The EP has been teased through a variety of mediums recently, with more details spilling out over time.
Didn’t pass the Harding test, so we will be premiering it online.
