My oh my how long we’ve waited for this. From 2012 to about 2015, Nathaniel Rathbun a.k.a Audien was a staple on the Anjunabeats label producing fan-favorite tracks like ‘Hindsight’, ‘Iris’, and ‘Wayfarer’. Since then, Audien left Anjuna to explore and grow his musical reach but leaving his fans wanting more Anjuna music. Today, that wait is finally over. Audien returns to Anjunabeats with his brand new single called ‘Higher’ featuring vocalist Cecilia Gault.
Audien’s Anjuna sound is not only unique, but absolutely uplifting. Rather than tweaking his sound design, Audien kept his vintage Anjuna sound we love so much. Using a piano-infused melody, Audien manufactures an initial mellow and low sound. This allows Cecilia Gault’s vocals to stand out while also capturing that beautiful Audien melody. At a minute and a half, that signature Audien pop erupts, first sucking the air out of the track then exploding through. Once that middle pop breaks down, the track begins to pick up steam and finally drops into a gorgeous explosion of happiness and energy.
