Now that Tomorrowland‘s 2018 edition has officially closed its gates after another successful year, fans from all around the world are taking a moment to reflect on some of the best and most memorable moments. Among the long list of noteworthy sets, Alesso returning to his progressive house roots stands out. We are so thankful that he chose to pursue this path!
Rewind back to early 2011. We will find Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia reaching out to the Swedish musician to inquire if he wanted to join forces. Ingrosso introduced the now beloved artist to DJing and helped him with a production of tracks, acting as a mentor for the aspiring producer.
When Alesso first broke out on the scene, he focused primarily on progressive house hits, leaving fans wanting more. As the years went by, the ‘Heroes‘ DJ tiptoed outside of the genre, resulting in some slight backlash as he altered his musical roots.
During this past weekend’s mesmerizing Tomorrowland Weekend Two set, his army of fans’ prayers were answered as he unleashed a captivating progressive house-charged set.
