Listen to Anjunabeach Sets From Above & Beyond & Mat Zo

anjunabeachThis past weekend saw one of the most special Anjunabeats events take place at Huntington State Beach in California. The highly anticipated event was Anjunabeach featuring sets from Luttrell, Lane 8, Mat Zo, and of course Above & Beyond. Today, we want to highlight sets from those last two names, Mat Zo and Above & Beyond.

For the better part of a decade now, Mat Zo has evolved his sound continuously to become one of the most dynamic producers in electronic music. Over the last few years, he has ventured off from Anjunabeats to pursue his own music endeavors including starting his own label, Mad Zoo. So it’s always nice to see him come back to an Anjuna event. His Anjunabeach set was a brilliant blend of funk house, tech house, and his old uplifting trance vibes. Mat Zo kicks off his set with some down tempo vibes to get the crowd moving before turning up the energy with his funk-infused house music. Throughout the set you’ll hear tracks like an ‘Easy’ remix, his old collab with ARTY called ‘Mozart’, and a Lane 8 remix of ‘Superman’. From start to finish, Mat Zo’s set is non-linear but oh so good.

The final act of the day belonged to the Anjunabeats bosses Above & Beyond. Anytime A&B take the stage, you know you’re assured a magical set. For their first special Anjunabeach set however, the boys upped it up a notch and brought the heat to the beach. Their set radiated love and energy all at once. When you weren’t dancing your feet off, you were singing along to Common Ground club mixes or Above & Beyond classics from years ago. To add a cherry on top, A&B even played the Genix remix of their classic single, ‘Anjunabeach‘. It seemed as if at every turn of a new song there was a monster bass kick with euphoric melodies. Once again, Above & Beyond proved to be a class above the rest.

For those of you who missed out on this special event, there will be more to come. Above & Beyond just announced a special Anjunabeats festival to take place in Riviera Maya, Mexico from January 4th-6th, 2019. And for those of you who want to make you drives to work more bearable or want to dance in your living rooms, Mat Zo and Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeach sets can be found below.
