EDMTunes Chats With Dante Klein [Interview]

Dante Klein

Welcome back to Miami, what are you most looking forward to this week?

Seeing everybody again. Playing Spinnin’ Deep. I’m also releasing my own Orlebar Brown which is a swim short brand from London. So this year me, Mike Williams and Sam Feldt have our own swim shorts that we’re gonna promote this week. We have a party on Friday, and the collection will be in June.

You released the single ‘Contagious’ last month, can we expect any more new music from you, possibly debuting this week?

Oh yeah definitely, there are three or four tracks coming up in the next month and I’m gonna tease two new records on Friday and Sunday. Very excited for those.

Who do you draw your inspiration from?

Diplo, I love him. Calvin Harris. I love Coldplay and a lot of people, I listen to a lot of different music.

Your track ‘Coke & Hennessy’ is a crossover hit with legendary Bone Thugs, how did this collab happen and what was it like creating it?

I was in the studio in L.A. a year and a half ago, and I was writing with Jordan and Mike –  the 87’s, and we were in L.A. and we wanted to write something about L.A. and how good the life is, and we wanted to go with something a little more old school. So the lyrics and the track came about, but old school L.A. needs old school hip hop so that’s where we wanted to bring in Bone Thugs, and we reached out and they were cool with it. So awesome.

What’s your favorite festival to play and what’s one you’d love to play soon?

Coachella is one I’d love to play soon. Tomorrowland I’ve played three or four times and it’s just a magical place.
