Heyz Debut EP Schedule 1 Mau5trap

HEYZ – Schedule 1 EP

If you consider yourself a fan of Mau5trap and you haven’t heard of HEYZ, you’re just in time to catch the wave. Mike Hayes, the up and coming techno producer based in Durham, North Carolina, joined the label headed by Deadmau5 just three months after he began seriously producing electronic music. And the only thing more impressive than his rapid recruitment by one of the most prestigious labels in the world is the quality of his music.
His first two single releases, ‘Quietly‘ and ‘Only Now‘, preview the natural talent underlying a musician on the path to so much more. Schedule 1, the debut EP from HEYZ, is an addicting journey through pain, struggle, and euphoria that is guaranteed to move you.

Heyz Debut EP Schedule 1 Mau5trap

All three tracks are unique in their own way. The title track has an industrial element, filled with mechanical grinding that melts smoothly away into an airy, natural breakdown. ‘Schedule 2‘ feels much deeper and more liquid throughout and ‘Schedule 3‘ utilizes a distorted vocal sample that repeats throughout the track like a mantra.
But one thing unites all three tracks, signifying them as products of Mike Hayes- every sound in this EP drips with sound engineering perfection. No element is out of place yet each track feels new and interesting. With such an impressive debut at such an early age and with less than a year of experience, there’s no telling where we’ll find HEYZ a few years down the road.
‘Schedule 1’ is out now on Mau5trap and available for purchase on Beatport and other platforms. Check below to listen to the new EP by this incredible young producer. His unique take on a genre that has existed since the beginning of dance music is both refreshing and exciting. These three standout tracks are perfect representations of the dark, driving, emotion-filled techno soon to be synonymous with the name HEYZ.
