The year 2017 is coming to a close faster than you know it. As the Holiday weekend approaches, we’re recapping 2017 in music. We’ve already counted down the best albums of the year, and now we’re moving on to the best remixes of the year. We asked our team to select their top choices of the year and we compiled the results here for you. Did we hit the mark or are there other remixes worthy of attention? Sound off in the comments.

10Jai Wolf – Indian Summer (Kasbo Remix)

Kasbo‘s remix of Jai Wolf is both relaxing and beautiful. The ‘Indian Summer‘ remix is definitely a feel good track for anyone.

9Above & Beyond – Northern Soul (Spencer Brown Remix)

Spencer Brown gives Above and Beyond‘s ‘Northern Soul‘ the nine minute treatment. This epic remix of one of trance’s biggest names is definitely some of the best chill out trance tracks of the year.

8The XX – A Violent Noise (Four Tet Remix)

In another laid back trance-y remix, Four Tet shows his musical mastery as he redoes The XX‘s ‘A Violent Noise. The progression throughout the eight and a half minute track is both beautiful and melodic, the perfect track to lay back and relax to.

7Armin van Buuren – This Is A Test (Arkham Knights Remix)

After debuting ‘This Is A Test‘, Armin van Buuren‘s epic track got a remix from the Arkham Knights. Keeping true to the troll of the original track, the Arkham Knights remix still breaks down for the audio, visual “test” but adds a ton of energy.

6J Balvin – Mi Gente (Dillon Francis Remix)

While he may be a huge troll, there is no denying Dillon Francis‘ musical talent. He gives ‘Mi Gente‘ an EDM twist, perfect for a big festival crowd with plenty of people holding up their Gerald totems.

5Kidnap Kid, Lane 8 – Aba (Yotto Remix)

The Anjunadeep crew is always impressive, especially when they remix one another. Yotto‘s remix of ‘Aba‘ by Lane 8 and Kidnap Kid hits home with the deep vibes and gives more credit to the sister label of Anjunabeats.

4Armin van Buuren vs Vini Vici – Great Spirit (Wildstylez Remix)

Wildstylez adds their heavy hitting hardstyle sound to one of Armin van Buuren and Vini Vici‘s tracks. The ‘Great Spirit‘ remix may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the production quality is dead on.

3Ed Sheeran – Castle on the Hill (Gareth Emery & Ashley Wallbridge Remix)

Many people have polarizing opinions about Ed Sheeran. But after getting an epic trance treatment from Gareth Emery and Ashley Walbridge it is impossible to dislike ‘Castle On The Hill‘. The vocals layer perfectly along an uplifting instrumental track, making this one of the best remixes of the year.

2Dillon Francis – Say Yes (Eptic Remix)

Eptic takes Dillon Francis and G-Eazy to a new level in the #2 remix of the year. While ‘Say Less‘ was a huge hit by itself, this remix is out of control. The whompy dub in this song is impossible to ignore so don’t be surprised if you find yourself head banging sitting at your desk or during your morning work out.

1Kendrick Lamar – HUMBLE (Skrillex Remix)

Although number 2, 3 and 4 were all close in votes, the #1 remix of the year stood clearly above the others. Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Humble‘ made huge waves in the music industry and so did Skrillex‘s remix of the hit. Bringing Kendrick’s flavor into the EDM scene is right in line with Sunny Moore‘s typical MO. As one of the most involved artists in the scene, it’s no wonder Skrillex tops this years EDMTunes top 15 remixes.
