NGHTMRE – No Coming Down
NGHTMRE gave us all an early Christmas present today to get your weekend rolling. Linking with Chicago rapper Alex Wiley and the angelic voice of Sky Montique, his new track “No Coming Down” is a dream for trap fans, as well as Chicago hip-hop fans.
Elon University’s dopest alumni outdid himself in the first verse, which Alex Wiley skates over with sleek rhymes. Fans of Tinie Tempah will find similarities in the Wiley verses, as Tinie‘s Discovery featured multiple EDM-influenced tracks that dominated both club and radio play throughout the spring and summer of 2011.
However, Sky Montique steals the show with her sultry voice. A virtual unknown, her powerful chorus is a mixture of Daya and Ester Dean, combining the right mixture of understated confidence with howling notes that will give listeners’ goosebumps. Her lyrics fit the vibe of the track perfectly, balancing the male/female dynamic with Wiley that is often so effective thematically.
Give it a listen during your pregame Saturday night, or relaxing with friends over a few cold ones this evening. Either way, this track is sure to get you dancing in the same time it takes Kyrie to dribble coast to coast for the C’s.
