Justin Kleinfeld and Lawrence Lui are some of the biggest names in the dance music industry. Kleinfeld is the president and founder of Rephlektor PR while Lui is former senior director of marketing at Island and Astralwerks/ Capitol Records. Both have a long list of world renowned artists whom they have worked for including Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5, Porter Robinson, Kiesza, Chemical Brothers, Mat Zo, Basement Jaxx, Avicii, Giorgio Moroder, Moby, Pretty Lights, and Tiesto. Chances are if you know a big name DJ, then you know a client of Lui or Kleinfeld.
Now the two have combined their experience and expertise to from a new music company. Introducing Bampire – an artist services company that offers all the services of a label, without the needing to be on a label.
This is an innovative approach to artist management that is needed to fit the evolving music industry. Lui and Kleinfeld have announced that Bampire will also be a project management and full-service marketing company.
On speaking about the new company Kleinfeld said:
“We saw there was a need for independent artists, big and small, to have the full-menu services of a label, without necessarily needing to be on a label. The business model itself is ambitious and reflects the changing landscape of the music industry, where artists can develop followings outside of the label system but still with the marketing acumen of professionals. We’re essentially bringing the best of both worlds together for artists.”
