R&B lovers everywhere rejoice: UK duo Snakehips, real names Oliver Lee and James Carter, just released their final installment for Australian radio Triple J’s “Mix-Up” series. The Mix-Up series features a revolving door of DJs who complete a series of mixes as their residency for the radio station.
Known for their masterful sets seamlessly mixing soulful R&B, hip-hop, and trap, Snakehips do just that in their latest mix. The duo’s final mix in their residency for Triple J features the perfect mix of current R&B and hip-hop from the likes of Rich Chigga, Bryson Tiller, Lil Uzi Vert, and Playboi Carti mixed with some classic artists of the genre, such as BBD, TLC, and Outkast. The duo are nothing if not versatile. Not only is this mix “sensual” in their own words, but they also feature some harder tracks from trap heavyweights RL Grime and Hucci.
Of course it wouldn’t be a Snakehips mix without a few of their own tracks, such as ‘Cruel’ featuring former One Direction member ZAYN, ‘All My Friends’ featuring Tinashe and Chance the Rapper, as well as one of their latest tracks ‘Right Now’ featuring ‘Broccoli’ artist D.R.A.M., Elhae, and H.E.R.
