Blackgummy – Monolith EP
Mau5trap artist Blackgummy released his third EP called Monolith. The four track EP takes you on a dark and unknown path into future with its techno sound. All the tracks have a pulsing bassline that are layered with minor key synth samples. Blackgummy uses minimalistic production to give a sense of emptiness that’ll have you oddly satisfied. The four tracks ‘Iconoclast’, ‘Arp Makes Sphnix Purr’, ‘Desert Fire’, and ‘Edifice’ meld well into each other with the dark foreboding theme. Based on the style and crumbling sound sample in ‘Edifice’ the EP seems to tell a story of an ancient city falling into ruins and leaving behind a mystery of the life that inhabited it.
Blackgummy is one of the newer artists on deadmau5’s mau5strap label. With his polished productions he has proven to be a rising star in the techno world. He is currently scheduled to perform a number of shows throughout the United States including performances with fellow mau5trap artist REZZÂ on her Mass Manipulation World Tour.
