Bassnectar Announces Freestyle Sessions Shows

Bassnectar

Colorado is in for a pleasant surprise filled with bass in a three day summer freestyle event hosted by Lorin Ashton, better known as Bassnectar. An abundance of subgenres are said to be explored from hip hop to jazz to dreamtempo. Who knew these genres could go so deep?

His announcement on bassnectar.net sends out a very important message. The information reads, “Close your eyes, put your phone away. stop texting, stop tweeting, stop thinking. don’t take pictures, don’t try and record the moment. don’t sit at home and watch this on Youtube, come experience it live, the way dance parties used to feel, the way house parties feel, the way it feels to be out in the middle of nowhere just vibing on good sound.” In typical Bassnectar fashion, he’s reminding us that shows are meant to be enjoyed in their simplest form.

He has been moving around to different venues after a noise restriction issue with Red Rocks Amphitheater in 2015. Basscenter 9 was hosted by Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and he recently played at the X Games in Aspen. This event will take place at 1st Bank Center.

The colon followed by the word ‘Colorado’ gives some speculation as to where he will go from here. I do not think this is the last we’ve seen of the freestyle sessions. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. (MTN).
