Oregon’s What the Festival Lineup Brings the Funk

Every so often you stumble upon a festival that simply just blows your mind. As a writer from the Northeast, many of the smaller, Pacific Northwest festivals fail to make it onto my radar. I was just made aware of What the Festival at Wolf Run Ranch in Oregon, and was simply struck with feeling of awe.

Taking place June 16th to 19th just 90 miles east of Portland, What the Festival has a backdrop one only dreams of. Located at the edge of the Mount Hood National Forest, the view stretches on for miles, with a clear view of the massive mountain in the distance. Featuring eight stages as well as a speaker series and movement classes, What the Festival is designed as a truly immersive experience. For this year’s festival, they also pulled in a lineup that a certain type of music fan can only dream of. For those of you who love to sink into the deeper, funkier and just plain weird sounds, What the Festival is right up your alley. Headlined by the diverse group of Zhu, Cut Copy, & Gramatik, What the Festival also boasts performances by Barclay Crenshaw, Big Wild, Brasstracks, Chet Porter, Hotel Garuda, Manic Focus, Manila Killa, Paper Diamond, Rezz, Shiba San, The Funk Hunters and many more. For more information regarding the experience and tickets, head to whatthefestival.com, and check out the full lineup below.
