Birmingham, Alabama Authorities Preparing For Bassnectar Show

Bassnectar is returning to Alabama on New Year’s Eve for his annual gathering at the BJCC Legacy Arena and the local police have begun preparations.

Birmingham Fire Chief Charles Gordon said that last year, the fire department treated 38 attendees, with 25 of them being taken to the hospital. A source told local news crew WBRC that 23 of those treated were due to drugs.

“’I’m not aware that the 23 transported were related to drugs at all,’  Tad Snider said during an interview.
‘It’s going to be outside the norm for say, a country western event or a sporting event. But for this type of event, we don’t know,’ Snider responded when asked if the numbers provided by the fire department were high for an event with 17,400 people.”

Local authorities have a plan in place to keep the ravers safe this year, including providing medical assistance at the event and searching everyone as they walk in.
