pro salesThe moment that Apple released their new line of Macbook Pro laptops at their last event, our hearts all dropped – a completely new redesign came with the new line, ultimately creating massive controversy around the price and removal of significant ports that will now require dongle usage.

However, regardless of the controversy, it turns out that the number orders that have come in for the new Pro is greater than any other Macbook Pro in Apple’s history, according to Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing. The product has outsold all of its Windows-based competitors already as well.

Slice Intelligence created a graph to demonstrate where the sales stand as of Oct. 31, though the information was pulled from sales numbers – specifically by reviewing “hundreds of millions” of e-receipts – and not exact units sold, so there is a possibility that the numbers are more skewed towards Apple. The graph demonstrates that the sales of the Pro that came in the first five days surpassed sales for key competitor notebooks, including the Microsoft Surface Book and Lenovo Yoga 900.
