If you’re a fan of hard-hitting genre-destroying music, today is your lucky day. Canadian DJ duo, Zeds Dead, has released their long-awaited album, Northern Lights. The album contains an impressive 15 tracks, each with their own distinct genres and vibes; you won’t find a song on this album that sounds like another.

Of the 15 songs on the album, 12 of them are collaborations, many of them familiar collaborations for Zeds Dead. Featured on the album include artists such as Twin Shadow (also featured on Zeds Dead’s 2014 hit, “Lost You”), Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Diplo, NGHTMRE, Pusha T, Jadakiss, Styles P, Charlotte OC, Elliphant, and more.

If you know Zeds Dead and are familiar with their past music, you’ll find that many of these tracks on the album indeed hold the signature Zeds Dead sound – though there are also many that are different than their norm and will surprise you. Here are our top three from the album:

1.) Me No Care – Warning: This song does not mess around. Zeds Dead takes on drumstep with this track and absolutely destroys it. No gimmicks, no distractions, no collaborators, no messing around. This song is cut-and-dry bass.

2.) Lights Out – Featuring singer Atlas, this dubstep/UK Garage combo shows a more sentimental and mature side of the album. The song has beautiful progression and melodically tells a story, not to mention the lyrics that echo of new beginnings. FANTASTIC song to listen to while driving, as long as you don’t mind feeling a tad nostalgic.

3.) Too Young – This song is pure, true HAPPY. It’s perfect to listen to you if you’re feeling a little down, or even a lot down; I repeat, this song is HAPPY. Featuring rapper Pusha T and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo, this track is absolutely the most star-studded on the album. This HAPPY song is easily radio friendly and is also a great song to drive around to!
