Porter Robinson has one of the most distinctive aesthetics in all of dance music. Borrowing heavily from the anime culture of Japan, Porter’s music often places himself and the audience in these animated worlds of wonder. This began in earnest with “Language” and morphed into a fully immersive world in the appropriately titled Worlds album.

Now as Porter Robinson has officially joined forces with Madeon for “Shelter” and the accompanying tour, Porter has teamed up with A-1 Pictures to create a full anime story sharing the same name. It was written and produced by Porter himself, and anybody who is still mesmerized from his tour visuals knows the quality he brings to the game. “Shelter” will be revealed on Tuesday, October 18th.

The video’s description states:

Shelter tells the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, Rin awakens in virtual reality and uses a tablet which controls the simulation to create a new, different, beautiful world for herself. Until one day, everything changes, and Rin comes to learn the true origins behind her life inside a simulation.
