Boehm – Swallow My Pride ft. Molly Moore (Viceroy Remix)
“I know I can be cold, but you always know how make fire with nothing but snow” is one of my favorite lines in this burner of a single by Boehm. And it’s on display proudly both in the single and the sunny remix by Viceroy.
With the remix pack from Dim Mak for Swallow My Pride upon us, Viceroy’s take on the tune shines. The West Coast, peppy opening shimmers into an understated house track with a dash of vintage 90’s piano. There’s a lot going on here, and throughout the track remains solidly aware of its roots while serving up a delightfully modern take on Boehm’s single. The vocals are woven into the classic house vibe expertly, with the lyrics being celebrated in a way that would make Ace of Base proud. The breakdown at 2:45 provides some solid time to jam and it’s over. Far too soon if you ask me. I hope this finds its way into the bar & club House sets until at least Halloween.
