Tomorrowland Breaks Social Media Records

TL16_SM_INFOGRAPHICBelgium’s legendary dance music festival, Tomorrowland, reached unprecedented heights on social media during this past year’s festival (July 22- 24). The numbers are in, and Tomorrowland 2016 killed it.

During the weekend of July 22nd through July 24th, the three day festival was able to rack up a social media reach of 175 million and 490 online touch points. In simpler terms, these numbers mean that 175 million people interacted with one of Tomorrowland’s social media accounts and impressive 490 million times. These numbers are ridiculous. I’m sure a variety of companies are already lining up to advertise their brand during Tomorrowland 2017 after seeing these numbers.

The next set of numbers that were released by Tomorrowland are the live stream totals. As many of us dance music addicts know, Tomorrowland runs a live stream every year for those of us who cannot attend the festival. The live stream consists of four different feeds that cover six stages throughout the festival. This year, Tomorrowland’s live stream reached 4.2 million viewers and 13.7 million times. These numbers are impressive, but an asterisk may accompany them because 1.8 million viewers from China were able to stream the festival for the first time.

Some other impressive numbers were the totals from Facebook. Tomorrowland’s Facebook was visited by 140 million unique visitors. Their Facebook Live posts were viewed 14 million times. Check out the full infographic below and then bask in the glory that is the 2016 Aftermovie above.
