Axwell’s ‘Axtone Records’ imprint has been on a hot streak lately, with Robbie Rivera and Tom Staar’s ‘Funkatron’ and Kryder’s ‘Crocodile Tears’ both hitting #1 on Beatport. And now, to keep the momentum flowing, they are unleashing ‘Old School’ which has been conjured by Sydney-based talent Dave Winnel.
Dave Winnel is also no stranger to Axtone; he has previously remixed Robbie Rivera’s ‘Falling Deeper’ not once, but twice, via an ‘Alternate Mix’ and an ‘Energy Mix’ and the highlight of ‘Old School’, his first Axtone original, is a trap-inspired break which also features a catchy vocal and an ever-present horn, all working in harmony. With support from heavyweight DJ/producers including Tiesto, Steve Angello, David Guetta and Thomas Gold, ‘Old School’ looks set to be another solid Axtone acquisition, and another hit for Dave Winnel.
