San Holo- New Sky
Today marks the first day of San Holo‘s New Sky Tour, his headlining conquest across the United States. The tour begins in New York and sees him travel across the country, making 16 total stops before ending at Lux Nightclub in St. Louis. The tour is a celebration of the talented producer’s “New Sky EP,” the two track package set to drop on Monstercat on March 11th. San Holo has already teased his fans with a preview mix for the tour, the 30 minute long “New Sky Tour Mix.” The mix features many of his own classic tracks as well as many releases from artists on his label bitbird, such as Point Point, BeauDamian and DROELOE.
“New Sky” begins with a hypnotically thumping drum kick that seems innocuous enough, lulling its listeners into a false sense of security. San Holo then abruptly takes advantage of this pause in the action, jolting his listeners awake with a euphoric explosion of beautifully melodic future bass. The constantly innovative artist still has some surprises left for the track, as he injects it with yet another shocking rush of trippy synth play. San Holo brilliantly manages to keep “New Sky” fresh throughout, leaving his fans drooling for the next track on the EP.
