The Massachusetts police are having the last laugh, after fining Kashawn Harris, a.k.a DJ Boogy, for playing “F*ck Tha Police” as police attempted to evacuate an over crowded bar.

Police were contacted after the establishment hosting the event reached an occupancy of 350 in a vicinity best suited to host a maximum of 160. When police arrived, they found it difficult to vacate the premises, which is when officer Juanita Mejias prompted Harris to cut the music. Rather than doing so, Harris began to play the NWA song, to which he was then presented with a summon for disorderly conduct. Mejias validated the action taken by Westfield police that night,

“I believed at that time the combination of alcohol, the excessive amount of people in the bar and the song that the DJ chose to play at that time was an intentional act by the DJ to incite the crowd which showed a reckless disregard for public safety,”

Harris, however has a contrasting statement which claims the song was built into prior to the police raiding the bar. He also stated that the area he was playing in had been evacuated when the song began to play,

“I had no intention of inciting a riot, it was just college kids having fun,” Harris said in an interview. “For them to even think I was trying to start riots was frustrating for me. That’s not my kind of background, that’s not where I come from.”

Harris was served a summons for disorderly conduct a month after the incident occurred. The court summons was accompanied by a $50.00 fine.
