Underworld Teases First Studio Album In 6 years With New Single

Late last year, legendary European electronic music act Underworld announced their upcoming studio album release. The band has transcended a generation and has been producing music for longer than most of our readers have been alive (est. 1980). Now, fans anxiously embrace the homestretch of what has been a long 6-year wait since their last album release: Barking (2010).

Barbara Barbara, We Face A Shining Future is due out on March 18th. Underworld posted the following statement on their website:

“So what’s there in the shining future? The opening punch of a two-note detuned bass riff crunching over relentless percussion; the elegiac swoop of strings as they stretch out across off-world electronics; a demented lupine howl that curls itself into an unshakeable earworm; celestial techno and South American acoustics; voices that warp into harmonic riffs; found lyrics that form fine-tuned monolgues; head music to dance to”

The album will feature 7 brand new original tracks:

01. I Exhale
02. If Rah
03. Low Burn
04. Santiago Cuatro
05. Motorhome
06. Ova Nova
07. Nylon Strung

Finally, the band has just dropped the first track off of Barbara Barbara, We Face A Shining Future titled “I Exhale”. Listeners get a taste of classic Underworld with a twist. The song is an a-typical intro tune which leaves us craving more.
