Wamdue Project – King Of My Castle
(Eric David & Billy Corduroy TJK Boot)

The Wamdue Project’s “King Of My Castle” has long been a staple of the late 1990’s dance culture with it’s lyrics being derived from Sigmund Freud’s theory of the unconscious which holds that, “the human Ego is not free and is instead controlled by its own unconscious Id.”

There have been a few famous official remixes done by Roy Malone and Armin van Buuren with a few other bootlegs out there, however, Eric David and Billy Corduroy’s edit of the chill TKJ remix in my opinion takes the cake. Incorporating the strings and slight synths designs in the TKJ remix into their own, this collaboration brings the best of both worlds: a catchy, addicting guitar plucked hook that brings an uplifting element while using a four on the floor kick drum and deep house structure to bring the tune back to club ready status.

Both Billy Corduroy and Eric David have released new material as of late. Billy with a dank mini-mix and Eric David dropping his re-edit of Mutemath’s ‘Joy Rides’ with it clearly being seen how their two different styles have come together, creating this deep, subtle vibe.
