Gorillaz Teases Potential David Bowie Collaboration

After announcing their first album release since 2011’s The Fall, world renowned and recently revived virtual alternative rock/trip hop band Gorillaz has been keeping eager fans on their toes for any news regarding their highly anticipated release. So far, one half of Gorillaz, Jamie Hewlett, has been posting new images of the cartoon band’s members to his Instagram, but yesterday, Hewlett shared artwork that sent a potentially huge hint to fans; a Gorillaz inspired cartoon of David Bowie‘s Ziggy Stardust persona coupled with the caption “Bad David.”

While there has been no definite confirmation of a collaboration on the duo’s forthcoming album, David Bowie fans are also anticipating a new album, entitled ‘★’ (‘Blackstar’), leading both Gorillaz and Bowie followers no choice but to put two and two together. On top of this, Gorillaz frontman, Damon Albarn, is close with the legendary rock star and has preformed with him in the past.
