Disclosure – Magnets ft. Lorde (A-Trak Remix)
Back in September, Disclosure‘s second studio album Caracal was released to much critical acclaim and fan praise. The album generated significant hype with the help of some high profile collaborations with pop superstars like Lorde, Miguel, The Weeknd and Sam Smith. The remixes have been pouring in ever since the album’s release, with “Omen” alone getting remixed by the likes of Claude VonStroke, Dillon Francis, Motez, Claptone and more. The V.I.P. of “Magnets” was released about a week ago, with Disclosure demonstrating their ability to effortlessly rework their own track. Fans will now get to hear a new artist take on the track, with A-Trak delivering the newest remix.
A-Trak builds up “Magnets” with a dark and thumping garage beat that presents a striking contrast to Lorde’s sweetly smooth vocals. A-Trak keeps the listener on their toes throughout by seemingly telegraphing a harsh future house drop. Instead, he sweeps the rug out from his audience’s feet and hits them with some groovy melodic house. The track is reminiscent of the pleasantly danceable style we saw him employ on his most recent single, “We All Fall Down“.
