Philadelphia’s own Magna has been keeping fairly quiet since the release of his grooving, 4-track Geisha EP last year, so fans of the rising east coast producer were elated to get their hands on his first release of 2015 entitled, “Riot 20XX (Back Again),” released through Uprise Music. So aptly named, Magna’s newest track proves that he’s been putting in serious time in the studio and cooking up some big sounds and even bigger song ideas since his last EP. While he cheekily describes his music as “Post-Ironic Neo-Ravepunk,” Magna’s “Riot 20xx (Back Again)” is a multi-layered, attitude-filled, high-energy fusion of trap hi-hats, in-your-face vocal work and roaring dubstep sounds that result in an adrenaline-filled release that’s a sure-fire recipe for a riot. Here’s hoping Magna has even more heart-pounding, head banging tricks up his sleeve for the remainder of 2015!
