It’s safe to say that whenever deadmau5 is active on social media, typically someone famous is involved and someone’s feelings are getting hurt. A few weeks ago, Aaron Carter – former teen heartthrob and younger brother of Backstreet Boys Nick Carter – posted a video to Instagram of a trap remix he created to the deadmau5’s hit single ‘The Veldt’, which seemed to insult the Canadian DJ. While there didn’t seem to be any malicious intent from the post, deadmau5 felt compelled to respond, obviously displeased by what had been done to his beloved track.
y u do this? https://t.co/II3A8XE3tx

With deadmau5 taking the first direct shot, the Twitter world patiently waited to see whether Aaron Carter was willing to accept what would easily be the most exciting method of settling a dispute. Despite the expected harassment he received by online trolls and deadmau5 fans alike, Aaron did not shy away from the sudden spotlight, and agreed to participate in the closest thing to a duel in this day and age: a 1v1 match playing the online shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
RT @deadmau5: @aaroncarter dude… fuck the world right now. im talking to you. you in or what? >> I’m in! — Aaron Carter (@aaroncarter) November 12, 2015
