Oliver Heldens – Melody
While his latest track “You Know” is still riding high on the Beatport charts, Oliver Heldens decided to give us a peek at his next release today. Originally known on the internet as “Space”, the track is now getting official with the title “Melody”. While it might be a simple name, it’s a good indicator of what you get in this future house tune.
While many of Heldens’ previous releases have focused more on the groovy basslines, this one appropriately puts the spotlight on the melody for a surprising result. In the preview, the signature future house rhythm is present, but a little more muted, while the piano chords play out an uplifting melody that has many fans claiming a strong resemblance to Tiesto’s “Adagio for Strings”. Whether the resemblance is intentional or not, it’s nice to see Oliver Heldens demonstrate some versatility within the sub-genre that he has become the spokesman for. You’re gonna have to wait for this one though, as the release isn’t until March 16th. In the meantime, you can check out the preview below.
