It is with a heavy heart we have to break this news, first reported by FACT. Joshua Prince has died at the age of 38. While few details are available yet, this is a huge blow to the dance music community. Fool’s Gold has been an institution in NYC and across both the electronic and hip hop industries, after being founded by A-Trak, DJ Nick Catchdubs & Prince, better known then as Dust La Rock. This loss will be felt deeply by his partners and a lot of the artists he worked with, such as Armand Van Helden and Action Bronson. From the man himself:
We did some digging and found one of the crazy old school mixes he dropped back in 2011. This is for a Russian show called Мишка that he did with Trouble & Bass (another dope local NYC label) leading lady Star Eyes. This is one of the great ones, ladies and gentlemen, you just didn’t know it.
