Just because Hardwell released his debut album and started another world tour doesn’t mean he’s too busy for new music. At his United We Are tour kickoff event at the Ziggo Dome Robbert premiered a surprise remix for Calvin Harris‘ smash single, Outside. While the remix only got its official preview on Hardwell’s podcast this past Friday, it is already released on Calvin’s Fly Eye Recordings.
Clearly designed as a festival banger, the remix begins sounding quite close to the original, allowing Ellie Goulding’s vocals to take the lead. Then the synths build up and Hardwell completely flips the track on its head with a face-melting electro drop. It’s a complete departure from the calm sing-a-long nature of the original, but then again that’s clearly the plan.
