Daft Punk is Holding Onto One Last Gem From Random Access Memories

Daft Punk

The Strokes frontman, Julian Casablancas, recently shared with Revolt TV that he caught up with Daft Punk‘s Thomas Bangalter, and asked about the status of their second collaboration. It appears that aside from their hit, ‘Instant Crush’, Casablancas and the French robot duo collaborated on a second track for the album Random Access Memories that has since been shelved following the sessions for the duo’s album. Julian explained to Revolt, “I bothered him last night. I was like, that song man, we gotta put that song out!”

He went into further detail about the track, saying, “It’s cool. It’s definitely one-tenth as populicious as ‘Instant Crush’… it’s a song that goes four half steps up, moving, and it’s just that on cycle, on repeat, and its super bizarre and sounds like jazz, modern, weird.”

There’s no word as to whether this second, unnamed track will ever surface, but when asked whether or not it would rival the strangeness of RAM‘s ‘Touch’ Julian stated, “It’s weirder than any song on the record, that I know of.”

Hopefully Daft Punk will decide to grace the world with a second, and much weirder Casablancas collaboration.
