Candyland has been churning out new music recently, first with their collab with REVOKE “NSFW” and now with a thunderous remix of Laurel’s “Shells”. When you think of Candyland, heavy, dirty dubstep & big room festi-trap usually comes to mind; however “Shells” is a cross between their “Can’t Control Myself” remix and their original track “Breathless.” The tune opens up with a calming piano ballad intro with Laurel’s voice as an accapella. Her voice coincides with a crescendo in the song and Candyland brings in an energetic drumstep beat to frame the high notes. The beat fades out and the vocals come back, stronger, with the beat more persistent, and they lead into a more powerful drop that utilizes the vocals to establish a relaxing atmosphere. To say that Candyland has done it again is an understatement, bravo!
