Spotify, the online music streaming titan, has just announced that they will be now offering family plans. The new service, called Spotify Family, will mimic the ever so popular “family plans” we see in the cellphone realm: you and up to four other family members can share one billing account, but all other aspects are kept separate. Each member of the clan gets their own personal login/password, are able to create playlists, enjoy personal recommendations, and are able to play music offline and free of ads. The price break down is as follows:

This marketing strategy is sure to increase Spotify’s whopping ten million paying-subscriber base and will expand their audience. Chief content officer Ken Parks states, “[Family Plans] is one of the most asked for features from our audience”. The service is set to be available very shortly and will soon after roll out worldwide.
