Goodgreef Future Trance: Mixed By Jordan Suckley, Craig Connelly & Photographer

Goodgreef Future Trance – mixed by: Jordan Suckley, Craig Connelly & Photographer
Label: Black Hole Recordings | Buy On iTunes & Beatport

What initially began in Manchester, England 14 years ago, the Goodgreef brand of dance music strives to bring forth a compilation that will kick Summer of 2014 into overdrive, launched by Black Hole Recordings and piloted by 3 of trance’s most trusted DJ mixologists in the Brits Jordan Suckley and Craig Connelly and relative newcomer, the Ukrainian Photographer . Each mixer is given their own dedicated mix CD, “featuring some of the toughest, most deadly current and upcoming trance music available to man, beast or DJ.”

Boasting a track-load of over 50 cuts, Goodgreef Future Trance showcases tracks produced by many of the power players in the trance game in Giuseppe Ottaviani, Aly & Fila, John O’Callaghan, Gareth Emery, Stoneface & Terminal, Gaia, Andy Moor, Gabriel & Dresden and Bobina…as well as a solid representation of the new guard of young up-and-coming trance producers with tracks by Driftmoon, Sneijder, Cold Blue, Daniel Skyver, Will Atkinson, Bryan Kearney, Tomas Heredia, Dave Gravell, 2nd Phase and EDU.

With such an eclectic amalgamation of producers’ work present and the distinctive mixing styles and abilities of our musical tastemakers for the journey, the trifecta-CD spans trance stylizations from “tech to tough, acid to uplifting and on to flat-out hard, its 3 discs will quench the thirstiest of trance-head appetites’ for floor destruction.”

Jordan Suckley kicks off the mix, spearheading his journey with a 1-2-3 punch of some of his most recent productions in ‘Centipede,’ ‘Contaminated,’ and ‘Access,’ in turn ramping up the energy which will course through the remaining musical veins of the mix compilation, assisted by fan favorite tracks such as Mark Sherry’s mix of ‘Brilliant People’ and the Dark Mix of relative newcomer XGenic’s ‘Ignition’.

Taking over the midfield of the comp, is Garuda A&R maestro and producer Craig Connelly…and expectedly so brings his immaculate music tastemaker abilities to his leg of the journey. Evidencing an impressive mix of the established and the new, Connelly’s mix takes us into gripping new cuts from Gareth Emery with ‘Firebird,’ and Protoculture’s ‘Music Is More Than Mathematics’ while representing his own productions ‘Decibels’ and his remixes of ‘Fade To Light’ and ‘Speed Of Sound’ among plenty of other uplifting trance tracks.

To wrap up the journey, Goodgreef newcomer Photographer has been making waves among the trance sea as of late since his remix of Armin’s ‘Who’s Afraid of 138?!’ and the Ukrainian brings his signature sound of edgy-uplifting and incorporates it into his musical journey on Disc 3 beautifully. Utilizing high-octane productions by the likes of Gabriel & Dresden’s ‘Rise Up,’ Cold Rush’s ‘Touchdown,’ and Skytech’s ‘Collider’ into EDU’s remix of Witness45’s ‘Weekend’ topped off with Bobina’s massive ‘Refuge’ just gives you a taste at the pace that Photographer has dictated for us in the closing moments of the euphoric mix compilation.

In a masterful example of the different aural directions that trance music can whisk away listeners to, GoodGreef Future Trance acts as a rocket-powered mental tour bus, giving listeners a guided tour of the borders of the trance sub-genre…allowing for a mental vacation from the likes of everyday life – seen through the eyes of 3 of the most forward-thinking trance acts of recent times.
