‘Waiting For The Drop’ Documentary Sheds New Perspective on Dance Music Culture

Waiting For The Drop

‘Waiting For The Drop’ is a yet-to-be completed documentary chronicling the rise of EDM culture and the reactions of its swift increase in popularity. The team behind the doc is employing crowd-funding through the site Indiegogo to raise money for its completion.  The director behind the project is Alexei Barrionuevo, a former New York Times journalist. Barrionuevo exhibits immense access to the elite bunch of EDM artists today and records their genuine stories and experiences in dealing with the media. The captivating trailer features interviews with Tiesto, Avicii, Nervo, Fatboy Slim and many more.  Despite this impressive access, Barrineuvo is turning to the public to help him reach his monetary goal of at least $45,000.

The financial breakdown is as follows:

$20,000 for principal editing (we still need to edit about half of the expected 120 minutes)
$10,000 for post-production (color correction and audio mastering/sound design)
$10,000 for music licensing
$5,000 for licensing of archival materials.
